Android 5.1.1 could be arriving soon to fix that annoying memory leak
4/2/2015 9:08:00 PM

The Android SDK Manager has a welcome new visitor in Android 5.1.1. This could quite possibly be one of the most eagerly awaited Android builds of some time. Unfortunately, the underlying demand for this update has nothing to do with aesthetics or performance. It has to do with a memory leak that has afflicted some Android users since the Android 5.0.1 update.

Google has acknowledged that the leak existed, but also posted that the necessary repairs had been made. Google did not have everything ready to go for Android 5.1, which is why the Android 5.1.1 update is so important to many Android ...

LG Display just announced a brand new 5.5-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) IPS panel for smartphones. According to the company, this will be used in a future LG "flagship smartphone to be unveiled at the end of the month." Most probably, this mysterious flagship handset is the LG G4, which is expected to be officially introduced on April 28.

Imagine coming home from work and finding the box with your new Samsung Galaxy S6 edge waiting for you by the door. You open the box, boot up the device for the first time, and discover dead pixels and scratches on the screen. That is the experience of someone with the handle rhcpcjg who posted about this on the XDA website. When he had a second phone sent overnight to him from T-Mobile, it arrived in the same condition. Verizon Wireless is now updating its Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0 Lollipop! The carrier says that the update is officially rolling out starting today, April 2, so everyone should get it pretty soon.

4/2/2015 3:39:00 PM

Late last month, we showed you a picture of what allegedly is the rear plastic case for a new 4-inch iPhone model. According to the speculation, this handset would be called the Apple iPhone 6c and would offer NFC connectivity (most likely to support Apple Pay), TouchID and a Gorilla Glass protected display.
