Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport now receiving Lollipop update
4/2/2015 1:36:24 PM

Samsung is continuing its Lollipop update rollouts. The latest device made by the Korean company to get the new Android version is the Galaxy S5 Sport for Sprint. This model has been exclusive to this particular carrier, and it's somewhere in between the original Galaxy S5 and the Galaxy S5 Active in terms of ruggedness. Since both the S5 and the S5 Active have already been treated to the Lollipop update, it's only natural that the S5 Sport follows. Sprint has published its official update notice today, which means the rollout is about to start (if it hasn't done so already). As always though keep in mind that it might take a few days until your device notifies you about the new software, since these releases are generally staged. After applying the update, you'll be on software version G860PVPU1BOC5. Aside from everything that Lollipop itself entails, this release also contains the Reactivation Lock feature, which requires entering a security code when trying to factory reset the phone.
