With pre-orders for the Apple Watch starting today, some retailers have sliced (hacked, cut, axed and dropped will all work as well) prices of competing smartwatches. Take the Android Wear powered Motorola Moto 360. Originally priced at $250, the watch can now be purchased from Best Buy and Amazon for $179-$180 with a leather band. A Moto 360 with a metal band can be purchased for $220 from Best Buy and $229 from Amazon.

Apple downgraded after analyst sees Apple Watch unable to meet hyped expectations

Raymond James analyst Tavis McCourt downgraded Apple's shares this morning to market perform after he had rated the stock at Outperform since January 28th, 2014. The Apple Watch was the reason behind the downgrade with McCourt concerned that the hype for the smartwatch cannot be met by the actual device.

Two flagship handsets that have yet to be unveiled are the LG G4 and the Sony Xperia Z4. A tweet sent out Friday from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei indicates that the Lollipop based version of Cyanogen, CM12S, has been certified by the company. Pei adds that the latest version of CyanogenMod will rollout to the OnePlus One "in the next few days." Earlier this month, the manufacturer released its own Oxygen OS, which is based on Android 5.0.2.
