LG G4 to come with a curved display at 300mm radius
4/22/2015 6:48:00 AM

Those leaks hinting at a curved LG G4 display might bear fruit, after all, if a report out of the Korean mediascape is to be believed. Upon stating how the G4 will have to clash directly with the Galaxy S6, and going through the expected specs and design Rolodex, like a record F1.8 lens aperture, and a genuine leather back cover for the G4, the publication casually mentions that its screen is going to be curved, and even cites the exact curvature radius of 300mm.

This might sound like a lot, but actually means that the display is only slightly curved along the Y-axis. The ...

A new Gionee smartphone was recently spotted in a leaked GFXBench result, complete with most of its hardware specifications. According to the leaked GFXBench result, the Gionee Elife S8 will come with some of the hottest specs in the smartphone market. This includes a 4.6-inch display with a resolution of 1440 ...

The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is a pretty serious contender for being the best-looking Samsung device ever. The main highlight of the handset, its curved display, does not bring any noteworthy functionality, but no one can deny that the handset is a beauty that is unlike any other phone on the market. There already are a number of such cases for the handset. and today we will be highlighting the better ones.

AlarmRun will blackmail you into getting out of bed - or publicly shame you otherwise
4/22/2015 6:07:00 AM

Ah, waking up early each day, jumping out of bed energetically – who doesn't love to dream about being that guy? Yeah, well, for those of us who have a bit of a problem opening those eyelids in the morning, there are countless of alarm clocks, and many many apps, which will play their annoying sounds until you either solve a mathematical puzzle, fill in a pattern, or whatever else hard task. Unfortunately, some pro sleepers have learned to just sleep through the alarm signal and never even try to solve the mathematical puzzle.

Well, here comes AlarmRun, adding a more extreme twist to our ...

Did you play Google's Earth Day quiz yet?
4/22/2015 4:49:00 AM

So, today is Earth Day – the day when we try to remember the importance of environmental protection and the fact that we live on a piece of rock with limited resources. Right after that, we will get back to drooling over a smartphone that currently has a 50% production yield for its frontal glass, but that's another story.

Google, of course, is commemorating this date with a specialized logo on its front page. However, if you tap the logo, you will get a quiz, which will try to tell you what kind of animal you are – just some typical Google fun, which tries to be ...

More images of the Oppo R7 – prepare for the battle of bezel-less smartphones!
4/22/2015 3:56:00 AM

Well, folks, just a week ago, China-based company LeTV unveiled its "superphones" – the LeTV One, One Pro, and One Max (yes, yet another phone that's named "One" – just in case you weren't feeling confused enough). What's special about these phones, aside from a promise of cheap pricing for the powerful hardware that they pack, is the bezel-less appearance that they sport, making them look slightly futuristic and just plain gorgeous.

You might have thought that LeTV will be the only manufacturer to offer such radiant phones, but, as we probably should have expected, ...

In-depth test of the iPhone 6, Galaxy S6, HTC One M9, and Nexus 6 settles which is the fastest
4/22/2015 3:46:00 AM

When it comes to performance testing, there are several, let's call them 'schools', of thought. One is that synthetic benchmarks can be ambiguous and are not necessarily representative of real-world performance. Others disregard them as way too arbitrary and meaningless. A string of numbers, nothing more. A third group yet, claims that they can be quite useful when judging performance.

Technically speaking, there's a little bit of truth to all these types of statements. Sure, a benchmark can be misleading and ambiguous, and the scores can be quite arbitrary, but only if ...

Could the OnePlus Two end up being sold through select carriers and in physical stores?
4/22/2015 3:17:00 AM

Like or not, smartphone start-up OnePlus has definitely managed to get its name out there, and fast, and the methods it used to achieve that will, in hindsight, prove irrelevant if the company manages to capitalize on all the free publicity in the future. What are those methods? First off, an aggressive, anti-status quo campaign that managed to rally smartphone buyers who felt their hard-earned cash should be worth more to manufacturers, and an exclusive, invitations-only system that caused a ton of outrage (and publicity) worldwide.

Could all of this have been a prelude ...

In pictures: The differences between the Sony Xperia Z4 and Xperia Z3
4/22/2015 2:21:00 AM

Announced three days ago, the Sony Xperia Z4 is a conflicting device. To start off, while it satisfies Sony's long-standing rule of refreshing their flagship line twice a year, some would argue that it fails to satisfy consumers' need for more palpable upgrades. Indeed, the Xperia Z4 is a lot alike the Xperia Z3, which, in turn, was a lot alike the Xperia Z2, which was... you guessed it – a lot alike the Xperia Z1.

And yet, the Xperia Z4, which is currently exclusive to Japan and will launch under a different name in Europe, does offer improvements over its predecessor, ...

Adobe Lightroom now works on Android tablets, scores support for DNG raw files, more
4/22/2015 2:18:00 AM

Adobe's Lightroom, which landed on Android a few months back, has just been refreshed with a host of compelling new features that will probably entice those enthusiasts who edit images on the fly.

For starters, the raw image file support of the image-editing app has been further enriched with support for DNG files, a pretty common file type. The addition of this file type is not a chance occurrence - with Lollipop, Android gained the ability to take raw photos in the DNG format in particular.

Adobe's mobile Lightroom is also no more exclusive to smartphones. It now supports ...
