Yahoo is reportedly prepping a rival to Google Now, Apple's Siri, and Microsoft's Cortana. Code-named Index, it is believed to be a personal voice assistant, which could put Yahoo back in the search game (currently dominated by the likes of Google). The existence of Index was hinted by Yahoo's own CEO, Marissa Mayer, who spilled the beans and claimed that Yahoo intends to wage war on the existing trinity of mobile assistants.

iFixIt's Apple Watch teardown is a marvelous tour of watchmaking in the 21st century
4/24/2015 3:52:00 AM

As Australians were lucky to receive their Apple Watch pre-orders right on time, gadget repair crack team iFixIt travelled to the distant land to obtain an early Apple Watch Sport unit and do what they do best with it - take things apart and take pictures of them. The staggering result is up for everyone to see!

Among iFixIt's more interesting discoveries are a covered-up diagnostic port that appears to be present on all Watch units, not just in-store or prototype models. Funny enough, this means the Apple Watch has exactly as many ports as the new MacBook! Moving on, it seems even the cheapest ...

Samsung has launched quite a few smartwatches so far – the Gear, Gear 2, Gear Fit, Gear Live, and the semi-autonomous Gear S, and while some of those may score some style points with some customers, all of them are rocking the rectangular form factor. Not an issue per se, but a lot of consumers out there prefer their watch to be round – something we saw clearly when Motorola launched the Moto 360 and gathered the collective drool of every early adopter who had beed waiting for a circular design.
