Connected Apple analyst says TSMC will provide 30% of A9 chips for next iPhone

Earlier this month, reports had TSMC shut out of producing the Apple A9 chip that will power the next iteration of the iPhone. That report claimed that Samsung and GlobalFoundries would be responsible for 100% of A9 production. But KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, perhaps the most reliable source for all things Apple, says that TSMC will get 30% of the A9 business. This echoes an earlier report from back in January related to TSMC's slice of the A9 pie.
According to Kuo, Global Foundries' yield producing the A9 has been a horrible 30%. A 50% yield is the lowest acceptable for mass production. ...

An Apple iPad used by Pope Francis was auctioned off for a whopping $30,000. The money is being used to help a school for the poor in Uruguay, where the auction took place. After the Pope used the tablet, he turned it over to local priest Gonzalo Aemilius with the comment, "May you do something good with it."

As the release date of the Apple Watch draws near, the Cupertino company wants to make sure that customers know what the new device can do for them. Thus, Apple today posted four guided tour videos which teaches future Watch users how to make phone calls, how to use Siri, how to play music, and how to make use of Apple Maps.

If you've misplaced your Android handset or have had it stolen, it is Google to the rescue. The tech titan announced today that if you can't find your Android handset for one reason or another, you can go to Google on your desktop computer and ask it to "find my phone." For this to work, you need to have the latest version of the Google app installed on your handset.

In the last few weeks, LG made it clear that it's going to announce its next flagship smartphone, the G4, on April 28, while also revealing some of the handset's features.
Thus, we already know that, just like the G3, the LG G4 will feature a 5.5-inch Quad HD IPS display. Just like the regular Galaxy S6, Samsung's Galaxy S6 edge is available to buy since April 10, with some pre-orders being shipped prior to that day. This means that many customers have already had the chance to thoroughly know their S6 edge, and, in some cases, to discover an unusual bug.

Verizon's version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is now receiving the Android 5.0 update. According to Big Red, the update includes the new "complex animations and 3D views" of Material Design. Lock Screen notifications are included with Android 5.0 as is the new "Recent Apps" menu, the 64-Bit ART compiler (which opens apps faster), and the "Floating Action" button used to write a new text message or email, or to add a new contact or calendar event. The update also improves TouchWiz, giving it a Material Design feel.
