HTC offering ridiculously low-priced HTC One M9 to retail carrier reps

There is nothing more convincing to some new phone shoppers deciding which model to buy, than seeing which device is in the sales rep's own pocket. Thus HTC has devised a plan that will entice retail carrier salespeople to have an HTC One M9 in their pocket now, and the latest model in their hands each year. The program, called HTC Champions, calls for retail carrier sales reps to sign up and then pay $299 off-contract for the brand spanking new HTC One M9.

Android 5.0 update bricks Nexus 7 slabs

For some Nexus 7 owners (both the first and second-gen models), the thrill of updating their tablet to Android 5.0 quickly turned into horror when the update bricked their pride and joy. And to make matters worse, it seems that Asus and Google are not responding to the many complaints that have piled up on Twitter. If anger were electricity, you would be able to power a large metropolitan city for days with the bile posted on hashtag #Nexus7bricked.

Samsung Galaxy J5 specs appear in leaked GFXBench result

A few days ago, we told you that Samsung is expected to expand its Galaxy J line-up by launching two new smartphones. Called the Galaxy J5 and the Galaxy J7, the new handsets were said to be affordable Android smartphones with mid-range specs, much like the original Samsung Galaxy J1. Building up on the previous info, the Samsung Galaxy J5 was recently spotted in a leaked GFXBench result, with most of its hardware specs being listed in the benchmark's database.
