LG G4 gets revealed ahead of its scheduled debut

LG G4 got fully revealed well ahead of its scheduled April 28 debut. A product page of the smartphone with a number of official images and specs went live for several hours. It has already been taken down. In line with the official invites, the press images of the smartphone confirm users will be able to spec its back in genuine leather. Several different shades will be available, with each of them looking decidedly premium. The Korean giant's flagship smartphone will also be available with plastic back cover. Sporting squarish texture, the latter will be available in dark gray, white, and gold. LG G4 sports a Slim Arc Design. It allows smartphone to feel naturally in hand despite sporting a massive 5.5" display. Speaking of display. LG already spilled the beans on the 5.5" QHD IPS quantum display of the G4. The new unit combines rich color reproduction with energy efficiency to match. LG G4 is confirmed to sport a microSD card slot and 3,000mAh battery. The latter will be user-replaceable, thus leaving the upcoming smartphone as the one of the last top-shelf devices with such setup. Physical measures of LG G4 are 149.1 x 75.3 x 8.9mm. There is no word on the weight of the smartphone just yet. LG will once again offer an official flip cover for its flagship smartphone. The accessory will be available in a variety of different colors. The web page didn't confirm the chipset of the LG G4, though it is all but certain to be Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The Korean company already confirmed that the device will pack a 16MP f/1.8 camera developed in-house....

 

Nokia tipped to contemplate a sale of its HERE maps business

According to a report in Bloomberg, Nokia is contemplating a sale of its HERE maps business. The Finnish company allegedly wants to focus its efforts on growing its wireless network division, as well as improve its credit rating. The ride-sharing powerhouse Uber and "a group of German carmakers" are reportedly among the potential buyers of the highly capable HERE maps. Bids for the service could be submitted as early as this month. Nokia's HERE business is said to carry a value of approximately $2.1 billion. It is worth noting that the former Finnish heavyweight paid $8.1 billion for Navteq Corp in 2008. Source...
