HTC to skip Android 5.0.2 and go to Android 5.1 with Sense 7.0

A tweet sent out by ROM developer @LlabTooFeR indicates that outside of the HTC One M9, which comes with Android 5.0.2 and Sense 7.0 out of the box, that combination will not be found on any other HTC handset. In other words, the manufacturer is skipping Android 5.0.2 altogether and instead will update certain models with Android 5.1 and Sense 7.0.
According to a second tweet, the HTC One (M8) will receive Sense 7.0 as will the HTC One M8s, the HTC Desire EYE, the HTC Butterfly 2 and some other devices. The HTC One (M7) is not supposed to receive Android 5.1 (except for the Google Play edition) ...

Apple iPhone remains on top in the U.S. says latest comScore data

The latest figures from comScore have been released, and it is no surprise that Apple remained the top smartphone manufacturer in the U.S. for the three months that ended in February. The company had a 41.7% market share during that time period, down slightly from the 41.8% of the U.S. market that it held for the three months ended in November.

BBM beta for Windows Phone sprays Raid to exterminate bugs

BlackBerry has sent out an update to take care of some bugs that have been afflicting the BBM for Windows Phone beta available for free from the Windows Phone Store. The laundry list of bugs that have been exterminated should make the messaging app run smoother and faster, but don't expect any new features with version 2.1.0.7.

Apple adds iPhone, iPad color options to its Beats Solo2 wireless headphones

Last November, Apple launched the Beats Solo2 wireless headphones. Originally offered in red, blue, black and white (with a scarlet option exclusively for Verizon), the colors of the headsets apparently clashed with users' iPhones and iPads. As a result, Apple announced today that it is offering the Beats Solo2 wireless headphones in familiar silver, gold, and space gray colors.
While the colors have changed, the price remains the same $299, a $100 premium over the wired version of the Beats Solo2. And the original shades are still available if that is the way you want to go.

Fresh off the success of festival day, during which it sold 2.11 million handsets in 12 hours, Xiaomi has started sending out invitations for a global smartphone event on April 23rd to be held in New Delhi. The invites mention that the "i" is coming, and there is some speculation that this means an international version of the company's current flagship model will be unveiled at the event. The manufacturer's current flagship handset is the Xiaomi Mi 4.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge go on sale today across the globe, and it's been a while since we've seen such huge lines form for a Samsung product.
