Did you know: the first Apple iPad launched on this very day five years ago
4/3/2015 8:22:00 AM

The original Apple iPhone launched in 2007, sending an instant shockwave across the multi-billion phone industry, and crafting the form of the modern smartphone with its App Store and capacitive display in a time where software was limited to Java apps and displays were of the clumsy resistive type.

This was the crown jewel for Steve Jobs. 10 years after he made his comeback as chief executive of Apple, the iPhone proved that the company was not only saved - it was on its way to greatness.

The original Apple iPad launched in stores on April 3rd, 2010It's no ...

According to Catherine Cherry, the Sony marketing director for UK, Ireland, and Benelux, the new global marketing campaign will run across various mediums, such as TV, billboards, ...

4/3/2015 6:42:00 AM

One of the many reasons to get a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge is that its outstanding camera will be at your disposal at all times. Seriously, the 16MP snapper excels at taking photos, as we said in our Galaxy S6 edge review. Our readers seem to like its performance as well – The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge won our last blind camera comparison, and it won it by a mile ahead of the runner up. In fact, Samsung's curvy flagship collected more votes than all three other phones combined!

In second place, we have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which also performed pretty ...

How to delete specific messages from iOS 8's conversation threads
4/3/2015 6:29:00 AM

If you want to keep the personal messages on your iPhone privy, there's no better option than remembering the important information, then deleting them right away. But what if said messages are contained within a conversation thread? Does this mean you must delete the entire thread just to make a certain message disappear?

Of course not - Apple isn't the kind of company that would get away with such a clumsy oversight. iOS 8 (and prior versions, we believe) lets you enter a message thread and erase only the messages you don't want. But for all of iOS's intuitiveness, it ...

Samsung might use custom cores in its next Exynos chipset: no Cortex-A72, welcome... "Mongoose"?
4/3/2015 6:06:00 AM

Samsung's latest chipset, the Exynos 7 Octa 7420 (powering the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge), is already shaping up to be a true powerhouse, but rumors about a new system-on-a-chip from South Korea are already circulating in the air. According to a new speculation, Samsung might not opt for Cortex-A72 cores, but develop a processor core on its own. At the moment, said custom core is codenamed "Mongoose" and will rely on the 14nm FinFET manufacturing process. It will employ the ARMv8 architecture, which paves the way for 64-bit functionality.

It's also said ...

Meizu is another China-based up-and-comer – maybe less famous to western customers than Xiaomi, but definitely spearheading its way to success in the eastern markets. The manufacturer became known for its MX (especially the MX4 and MX4 Pro) series flagships – powerful handsets at midrange price that boast incredibly thin bezels – and has also reaped the success of its new "entry level" phones – the Meizu m1 note and Blue Charm– colorful midrangers with decent specs and surprisingly good cameras, priced around the $110 mark (for China).

Well, it seems that churning out those desirable phones ...
