This makes sense – if you're anything approaching a power user, you may very well need that, especially if you're not willing to pay an outrageous ...

Original Tomb Raider lands on Android: play as Lara Croft in her 1996 pixelized glory
4/2/2015 4:20:00 AM

'Just' a year and a half after it arrived on iOS, the original Tomb Raider game released back in 1996 for PlayStation and PC, has landed on Android's Google Play Store. Better late than never!

The game focuses on the adventures of young gun-toting archeologist Lara Croft, who travels looking for the lost city of Atlantis and explores the pyramids of Egypt. The game does not lack the retro pixelized dungeouns and the blocky face of Croft - as sad as it is - reminds us of our childhood. Climb that rock, solve that puzzle. All kidding aside, the title is a great play, a true classic offering ...

With HTC's April 8th media event now less than a week away, many of you are holding on to the hope that the HTC One M9+ will be introduced at that time. The phone has taken on a mythical aura that now surrounds it. Some of that is because the rumored HTC One (M8) max never was introduced last year even though it appeared to be real.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 is already here and it has all the potential to help Samsung get back on track. You can't afford to disappoint when your leading position is endangered by numerous competitors.

One of these is Apple, which has gained quite the momentum with its most recent iPhone lot, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. With the former, Cupertino decided that it's high time it battled the competition in the segment that was almost ...

HTC One M8s unveiled: a 2015 rendition of the One M8 with no UltraPixel camera and a 64-bit chip
4/2/2015 3:21:00 AM

Just as the brand new HTC One M9 is starting to arrive on store shelves, HTC has unveiled the One M8s: a phone that looks practically identical to last year's One M8, but does feature a new, 64-bit system chip and does away with the UltraPixel main camera.

Apart from those two big changes, the HTC One M8s sports the same brushed aluminum unibody and styling, a 5-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel LCD screen, and pretty much all else has remained identical.

Here is a quick peek of the specs:

Galaxy S6 vs Asus Zenfone 2 camera comparison: $600 flagship against a $300 midranger
4/2/2015 2:54:00 AM

From the new lens and the whopping f/1.9 aperture for the rear camera, to the added optical image stabilization, and the improved wide-angle ratio of the fresh 5 MP front camera, there are plenty of new features to go around in the new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge camera module.

At first look, it carries the same resolution as the snapper in the Galaxy S5, so what's so different about it, right? Well, resolution is only a part of it, and Samsung has upgraded the both the rear and front camera units of its new flagships in very meaningful ways, registering them for the smartphone camera top ...

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Samsung's Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge top the chart, with a non-trivial score advantage over the third on the list – the HTC One M9. Both are based on Samsung's own 64-bit, octa-core Exynos 7430 processor, while HTC's new flagship is running Qualcomm's 64-bit, octa-core ...

Riff allows you and your friends to collaborate on videos that are best described as "video stories". This is how it works - after you or anyone of your Facebook pals sets a topic and records the ...

The push to finally put a lid on the remaining 6% will involve building out an additional 600 cell sites, and expanding existing LTE coverage in 10 states. All told, an additional 2,000 cities and towns will have new or ...

We don't know if the One M9 64 GB will be released in other markets, but Focus Taiwan suggests that this variant could be available only in HTC's home country.

Of course, the One ...

Humor: The cycle of smartphones and boredom
4/1/2015 11:30:00 PM

While new features on smartphones are sure to dazzle us for years to come, for much of the developed world, the presence of a smartphone is wholly mainstream, and so, the smartphone itself does not hold the "wow" factor it once did.

The result? First-world-problems. You know how it is, you're grinding away at something, waiting in line, waiting for someone, waiting for something, or (just as likely) you're not doing anything at all. You're bored.

What do you do? Well, you reach for your smartphone. As if to issue a demand, "Entertain me," you flip through whatever notifications you ...
