Upcoming Sony Xperia C4 possibly leaked in new render
4/6/2015 12:45:09 PM
Last month we saw a couple of leaked images reportedly depicting an upcoming Sony smartphone codenamed Cosmos. Then just a few days ago we found out that the Cosmos is going to be officially called Xperia C4 when it launches in the near future. And today we have what is purported to be a leaked render showing the Xperia C4's front fascia in all its glory. The image isn't verified in any way, so do take this with a grain of salt for now. On the other hand, what we see does seem to make sense for a device that should be the successor to the selfie-centric Xperia C3 from last year. The alleged C4 does have a front-facing LED flash just like its predecessor, but the design is slightly different, with more rounded corners. The source of this picture also lets us know that the Xperia C4 should land in May or June running Android 5 Lollipop. The phone is apparently going to be offered in three color variations: white, black, and turquoise. Specs are not known yet, unfortunately. But since the C3 had midrange innards, we expect its successor to be in the same price bracket - but with updated hardware, of...

Acer Liquid Jade S review: Semi-precious
4/6/2015 10:51:14 AM
It's a tall order for any midranger to stand out among a myriad of offerings in the market. Both established brands and emerging Asian manufacturers are trying hard to grab a piece of that market spoiling those shopping there for choice.
Galaxy S6 and S6 edge now shipping to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile
4/6/2015 10:04:24 AM
AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile begun fulfilling the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge pre-orders today. The units have been dispatched and will arrive to customers tomorrow. All major US carriers are offering the Galaxy S6 duo, but apparently Verizon's subscribers won't be treated with earlier shipping. Verizon was the last to open its pre-orders for the public on April 1 and it seems it will be last to ship them, probably in time for the April 10 worldwide release. So, the early birds at AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile are getting their Galaxy S6 smartphones tomorrow. The rest of the people will be able to get them in stores starting from April 10. If you are still undecided on which of those to pick, maybe you'll find the answer through our Galaxy S6 review and Galaxy S6 edge review. Source |...
Samsung publishes its own official bend test, Galaxy S6 survives
4/6/2015 9:37:02 AM
In a rebuttal to the published video where a Galaxy S6 edge gets bent beyond repair, Samsung has issued a statement complete with a video detailing its own testing procedures. The company claims that the SquareTrade test does not indicate typical usage scenarios and is also not indicative of the phone's face-down rigidity. In the Samsung video, which opens up with a quick disclaimer, that it's not inspired by sadistic desires, the complete bend test routine is shown on both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge. A three point rig is set up with the appropriate software to measure the applied force. To put an everyday meaning into the numbers a set of 5 pencils is subjected to the same test and reaches a breaking point just shy of the 80lbf (108Nm) mark. Then the Galaxy S6 takes the stage and survives a slightly larger force just fine, returning to its original shape. The Galaxy S6 edge fares equally well, both face down and up. In the previous bend test, the Galaxy S6 edge was subjected to a good 110lbf or 149Nm, cracking and becoming unusable. The iPhone 6, the one that started the whole bend craze, died at 179lbf (243Nm). While all this might please the number-crunching crowd, for the general public it means that manufacturers are acknowledging the bending problem, and doing their best to minimize its effect.
