Google may provide free or reduced-rate international roaming with its wireless service
4/6/2015 3:15:00 AM
While Google has sewn up its MVNO arrangements with T-Mobile and Sprint, and we wait to see what will be in store for prospective customers, it looks as though Google wants to ensure its customers have the ability to roam internationally.
The Telegraph reports that Google has an idea to create a global MVNO, with a flat customer rate anywhere in the world. Google is reportedly discussing service agreements with Hutchison Whampoa, the Hong Kong-based conglomerate that owns the "3" brand in the UK and Europe, as well as significant telecommunication holdings in Asia.

Some Galaxy S6 edge fronts appear scratched out of the box, displays show funky colors
4/6/2015 2:30:00 AM
A number of users have reported concentric or hairline scratches on their Galaxy S6 edge displays which are visible the second they take the phone out of its boxing wrapper. Those are not the deep I-carried-it-with-keys-in-my-pocket type of scratches, but rather those short abrasive bundles visible from an angle under strong light, like a car polish that has seen too many soft bristle washes.

More details are outed about the possible use of the Kirin 935 SoC on the Huawei P8
4/6/2015 1:02:00 AM
Just a few days ago, we told you that there is speculation that instead of being powered by the Kirin 930 SoC, the Huawei P8 would be powered by the Kirin 935 chipset. Both are home grown by Huawei, but obviously there are changes between the two. First, we should point out that the Huawei Mediapad X2 features the Kirin 930. But the latter offers quad Cortex A53 cores and quad Cortex A53e cores which just might not produce flagship-worthy performance.
Another change between the two chips deals with clock speed. On the Kirin 930, we are talking about 2GHz while the Kirin 935 offers speeds ...

The Asus Padfone is a phone that is docked inside the back of a docking station to turn the latter into a working tablet. With the Asus Padfone S Plus, the manufacturer takes the Asus Padfone S (which itself is the international version of the Asus Padfone X) and bumps up some of the specs. The parts of the phone that are unchanged from the previous model include the 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920, the 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 CPU, the 13MP rear-facing camera, and the 2300mAh battery.
The changes can be found inside with the use of 3GB of RAM, a 50% improvement from ...

4/5/2015 11:56:00 PM
Please note: this is a tutorial for inexperienced users.
Your Android smartphone's home screen can become quite messy pretty fast, especially if you constantly download a lot of apps. Fortunately, keeping the home screen clean requires little effort. That is, of course, if you want it clean, because some people may actually like their home screen to be chock-full of apps and widgets.
There are two important things that you can do to try and keep your home screen uncluttered.
First, you have to stop shortcuts from being automatically added to the home screen whenever a new ...
Issue with box is turning on AT&T customers' Samsung Galaxy S6/Galaxy S6 edge while in transit
4/5/2015 11:34:00 PM
One of our loyal readers apparently works for AT&T and has sent us an interesting memo that was allegedly sent to AT&T employees. Apparently, there is an issue with the box that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge was shipped to customers in. According to this memo, the problem can cause the two handsets to turn on inside the box while in transit.
This isn't the end of the world, of course, and AT&T is telling its reps that if customers complain that they can't turn on their new Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge out of the box, they should use the charger that comes with ...
