5/5/2015 12:39:00 AM

T-Mobile CEO John Legere promised last week that he would be gunning for the nation's largest carrier, and on Tuesday morning the carrier announced a new plan and ad campaign called hashtag #NeverSettleforVerizon. The new plan allows Big Red customers to get a taste of T-Mobile while still keeping the door open for a return to Verizon.

Here is how the plan works. A Verizon customer ports his number over to a T-Mobile handset while he keeps his Verizon phone in case T-Mobile is not his cup of tea. If the Verizon customer loves T-Mobile after the trial, the carrier will pay off up to $650 ...

5/4/2015 11:42:00 PM

At this time last year, Pebble controlled the smart wearable market with a 35% share. But with a variety of intelligent timepieces hitting the market, the guys at Pebble were smart enough to know when it was time to start from scratch, something similar to what Samsung did with its flagship phone this year. So back to Kickstarter went Pebble, and this time it smashed all records by raising $20 million for its new Pebble Time watch.

Pebble issued a release on Monday giving an update on where Pebble Time currently stands. The good news is that mass production will begin later this week. ...

May the 4th be with you: Star Wars tributes from the gadget gang and operators make Monday a little easier
5/4/2015 10:00:00 PM

The recent phenomenon that is, "May the 4th," a play on the all-enduring phrase from Star Wars, "May the force be with you," continues this year with a lot of people and businesses sharing their wit in tribute to the iconic movie franchise.

Last year, the UK team with Windows Phone threw out either an epic troll, or epic fail, with its tribute to "Trekkies." The responses were equally grand, in a social-media-unforgiving-kind-of-way.

Verizon Wireless took on the day in style, setting up a #CapturetheDroid campaign around New York City. Those that found the Jawas and used the right ...

5/4/2015 8:47:00 PM

Earlier this year, it looked like Major League Baseball's At Bat app had made its third out on Windows Phone and was gone from the platform. After the app was pulled from the Windows Phone Store, MLB issued refunds to those who had purchased a premium subscription. But it looks like baseball fans using Windows Phone have been able to scratch out a 2-out rally because At Bat has returned to the Windows Phone Store all gussied up and ready to go for the 2015 season, already in progress.

With the Windows Phone version of the app, you can pin your favorite team to the Start page for quick access ...

5/4/2015 7:08:00 PM

Last week, T-Mobile started updating the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, and today the Magenta carrier announced that the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is now being updated to Lollipop as well.

The update clocks in at a sizeable 1.1GB, and T-Mobile won't let you use the mobile data connection to download it, so you'll have to stick close to a Wi-Fi network.
