Sprint adds 1.2 million net additions to its platform for fiscal Q4, its highest total in three years

This morning, Sprint reported its fiscal fourth quarter 2014 earnings. The carrier reported a net addition of 1.2 million subscribers to the Sprint platform, the highest net add in three years. In the fiscal third quarter, Sprint added 967,000 net new subscribers. In the year-ago period the carrier had lost 383,000 subscribers.

Sprint was led by the 546,000 net prepaid additions it recorded for the three month period. That led the industry for the second quarter in a row. During the previous quarter Sprint added 410,000 net prepaid accounts. A year earlier, the carrier lost 364,000 prepaid ...

HTC has its worst April in 6 years; disappointing HTC One M9 shipments blamed

With HTC reporting this morning that April revenues plunged 38.6% year-over-year, analysts are quickly placing the blame on disappointing sales of its new HTC One M9 flagship phone. Just one month after reporting "robust" sales that led to its best Q1 since 2011, HTC reported its worst April revenue figure in 6 years.

For the month, HTC took in $439.95 million, down from the $719.24 million the company reported in revenue last April. Sales declined 32.26% from the $652.44 million the company garnered in March 2015. An unnamed analyst who toils for Yuanta Securities Investment Consulting ...

Google just released its weekly Android version distribution numbers, and the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop is going for the 10% milestone, with a tiny help from the bleeding edge Android 5.1 update. Just yesterday, we told you that the Oppo R7 had been certified by TENAA, China's version of the FCC. We learned a couple of things about the handset, one of which was that it might not be as thin as earlier hoped. The other is that there are two variants of the device. The one for China Telecom is powered by a 64-bit octa-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 CPU. The China Mobile model is driven by an octa-core 1.7GHz MediaTek MT6752 CPU.
