Has Swatch invented a smartwatch battery that lasts 6 months?

According to a weekly Swiss newspaper called Handelszeitung, watchmaker Swatch will release a new battery next year that will allow smartwatches to run 6 months before requiring a charge. Swatch CEO Nick Hayek told the paper "Whoever brings a battery for a smartwatch to the market that you don't need to charge for six months has a competitive advantage."

Phablets score 21% of Q1 2015 smartphone sales in the US, Apple's iPhone 6 Plus leads the pack

According to a new report from Kantar Worldpanel, phablets accounted for 21 percent of all US smartphone sales during the first quarter of 2015. During in the first quarter of 2014, estimates show that phablets represented just 6 percent of all smartphone sales in the US, meaning that phablets nearly quadrupled their slice of the smartphone pie in just a year. Although the term is now starting to lose its identity, any smartphone with a screen size of 5.5 inches or larger is considered to be a phablet.

Snapdragon 810 didn't overheat on any commercial device says Qualcomm's marketing chief

Qualcomm's VP of marketing, Tim McDonough, says that the Snapdragon 810 never had a heating problem. Speaking with business magazine Forbes, the executive said that all of the rumors about the chipset running hot were "rubbish." McDonough did admit that early versions of the HTC One M9 and the LG G Flex 2 did overheat, but those were devices being tested and were not for commercial release.

McDonough pointed out that pre-release products are built to find bugs. He said, "Pre-released hardware doesn't act like commercial hardware, it's just part of the development process." His theory is ...

Last year at Google I/O, Google introduced Android L which of course became Lollipop. With the release today of the schedule for I/O 2015, Google slipped and posted about a session called "Android for Work." A description of the event mentions how Android M is "bringing the power of Android to all kinds of workplaces."

Verizon Lumia 735 spotted at the FCC with Microsoft branding

Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 735 back in September 2014, but so far, the handset has yet to be launched in the United States despite numerous rumors that pointed towards an US launch. A recent discovery made in the FCC database reveals that Verizon might soon launch the Windows Phone handset on its network, with Microsoft's branding replacing the Nokia logo that is present on the international version of the Lumia 735.


At the moment, it's unknown if the Verizon version of the handset will launch with any significant hardware differences compared to the international version. ...
