ZTE Nubia Z9 Max and ZTE Nubia Z9 mini specs are outed day before ZTE event
3/25/2015 8:07:00 PM

Tomorrow, we expect ZTE to unveil a handset that has been called "stunning," the ZTE Nubia Z9. With extremely thin bezels, the Nubia Z9 is a sight to behold. The problem is that specs for both a smaller-screened ZTE Nubia Z9 mini and a phablet-sized ZTE Nubia Z9 Max have also appeared, making it difficult to figure out which specs belong to each of these three models. However, we feel pretty confident that we can sort it all out for you.

Let's start with the ZTE Nubia Z9. With the bezel-less look that many phone owners would love to show off, the Nubia Z9 features a 5.2-inch display with ...

Turns out getting the Android 5.1 update for Nexus 6 on AT&T takes a little extra effort – here's how
3/25/2015 7:47:00 PM

This past weekend, we shared the word that it looked like the AT&T branded Nexus 6 was getting the Android 5.1 Lollipop update. However, a lot of people (including our own AT&T device) did not seem to be getting much by way of any notification that the update was making progress.

Looking at AT&T's support page for the Nexus 6 shows that the current OS build is still Android 5.0.1, released back in January.

As it happens, it appears it was a bit of a fluke that the update was received, okay not a fluke, let us call it, "an alternate route." For all the awesomeness of the ...

Motorola has no plans regarding tablets, recommends Lenovo's Yoga slates
3/25/2015 7:07:00 PM

Motorola President Rick Osterloh today took to Twitter to answer some questions, one of them being about tablets. More exactly, the question was: "Will Motorola get into the tablet space this year?"

According to Osterloh, the company doesn't "have any plans" regarding tablets, so we shouldn't expect to see any Motorola-branded slate anytime soon. However, Motorola recommends customers to try the Yoga tablets made by Lenovo (which acquired Motorola Mobility last year).

As you may know, Motorola's last tablets (the Xyboard 8.2 and Xyboard 10.1) were released in late 2011 to moderate ...

3/25/2015 5:30:00 PM

Microsoft teamed up with Coloud (a Swedish maker of audio accessories) to create and launch a new headset for Lumia smartphones. Called Hoop by Coloud, the headset is an in-ear one that's targeted at users with an active life style, being built to "handle your favorite workouts."

Designed by Microsoft, the new headphones are protected against dust, splashes, and sweat, and come with a tangle-free cable that's coated with a reflective material (helping you stay visible in the dark). An adjustable support loop helps keeping the earpieces in your ear, so you won't be distracted when running. ...

The handset is expected to carry a 5-inch screen and will be priced at the equivalent of $483 USD. Two weeks ago to the day, we told you that the device had passed muster with TENAA which is China's version of the FCC.

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will come with 1 year of free Netflix when bought from T-Mobile
3/25/2015 1:48:00 PM

T-Mobile today said that buyers of its Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will get 1 year of Netflix for free, with access to the media provider's "entire streaming library." Normally, subscribing to Netflix for 1 year costs $107.88, so T-Mobile's gift is more than welcome.

This isn't the first time when a new Samsung device comes with 1 year of free Netflix. A previous promotion (which ended in January) allowed customers to enjoy Netflix for free if they bought a Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, or a Galaxy Tab S.

While Samsung will officially release the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge on April 10, ...
