Jide Remix, the Android tablet that looks like a Windows one, will start shipping in May
3/26/2015 11:10:00 PM

Remember the Jide Remix tablet that was announced back in January? The device is already available in China, and now Jide is getting ready to sell it around the world. The company launched a Kickstarter campaign that lets users order the slate from the US, Canada, Australia, UK, and most European countries. Right now, you can buy a Remix tablet for $349, and expect to get it in May.

Interestingly, Jide allowed 355 early adopters to get the tablet for just $39 (that's thirty nine US dollars), hoping to receive feedback from them in order to improve the slate's OS - which is called Remix ...

Manage real-life baseball stars on your phone or tablet with MLB Manager 2015
3/26/2015 10:17:00 PM

If you're a fan of table-top baseball simulation games like Strat-O-Matic or APBA, a similar type of game is now available for your iOS or Android powered phone or table. MLB Manager 2015 is an officially licensed MLBPA game which means it uses real names and logos. You can play the 2015 season with your favorite team, or recreate past seasons like 1919, 1939, or 2012.

And if you aspire to a position higher than manager, you can become General Manager of a team, sign free agents, pull off blockbuster trades and call up that young hot shot who has been burning up the minors. A news ticker ...

LG G4 (Note?) allegedly photographed in the wild
3/26/2015 9:48:00 PM

While LG will probably announce the G4 in April or May, we already had the chance to take a look at what's reportedly a "non-final" design of the smartphone. Alongside the regular G4, LG should also release a G4 Note, though this is expected to be introduced in the second half of the year. Even if there are still many months until then, an XDA Developers forum member claims to have some photos of the G4 Note right now.

This alleged LG G4 Note resembles the device that was previously presented as the G4, having a rear camera flanked by an LED flash and a laser auto focus sensor, alongside ...

ZTE nearly doubled its profits in 2014
3/26/2015 9:20:00 PM

ZTE reported a 94% gain in profits for 2014, led by strong handset sales. For all of last year, ZTE earned $423.4 million compared to the $219 million in profits ZTE reported the prior year. Operating revenue rose 8.3% to $13.1 billion. The same economic dynamics that helped companies like Xiaomi, Huawei, Meizu and Lenovo perform so well last year are behind ZTE's fiscal strength.

ZTE's marketing expenses are expected to rise 50% this year as the company continues to aim for the top in the North American market; that's something that even Xiaomi hasn't felt comfortable doing yet. ZTE does ...

OnePlus' upcoming "game changer" device to be a drone?
3/26/2015 8:29:00 PM

Earlier this month, OnePlus revealed that it would announce a brand new product in April, calling it a "game changer."

The company made it pretty clear that this wouldn't be a smartphone, a tablet, or a smartwatch, but didn't provide further details. However, now it looks like we know what the new device is.

During an AMA (ask me anything) session on Reddit, a OnePlus official today answered to a question regarding the upcoming product, saying that "it's a drone, the DR-1, and we will start selling it next month." Well, the last teaser image that we can see in the slideshow below ...

Google launches the Nexus 6 in more markets
3/26/2015 6:22:00 PM

While the Nexus 6 is no longer one of the newest smartphones around, it's only now that it's being released in some countries. More exactly, Google expanded the availability of its giant smartphone to 6 new markets across Europe: Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway, and Portugal. With these new markets, the Nexus 6 is now available in a total of 21 countries. Customers can buy the Nexus 6, unlocked, via the new Google Store (which, of course, isn't available everywhere in the world).

Recently, Google updated the Nexus 6 to Android 5.1 Lollipop. The update is not a major one, mainly ...

OnePlus One owners remain Oxygen deprived as another delay takes hold
3/26/2015 5:31:00 PM

On the day before OnePlus was supposed to start rolling out the home grown Oxygen OS for the OnePlus One, a post on Reddit revealed that the company will not be releasing the software on Friday as planned. OnePlus One users originally were being given the opportunity to decide between Oxygen OS and the updated CyanogenMod 12S. Both operating systems are based on Android 5.0.

While OnePlus says that both Oxygen OS and Cyanogen Mod 12S are ready to go, both operating systems need to complete the certification process. Cyanogen was going to be available to OnePlus One users on Monday and it ...
