$30 Unlimited Data plan offered by MetroPCS comes with a major catch
3/24/2015 5:44:00 PM
Pre-paid carrier MetroPCS announced today a new $30 a month plan that offers unlimited talk, unlimited text and unlimited data. However, there are some caveats. The first 1GB of data used is available at 4G speeds. Once you exceed that amount, your data is sent to you at "average MetroPCS network speeds for the rest of the billing cycle." You can be darn tootin' that this means a data speed slower than 4G.
Additionally, the phone that you are using for this plan has to be one purchased directly from MetroPCS or an authorized dealer. The device has to be GSM compatible and support 3G ...
HTC One M9 Plus (or M9+) dummy shows up in video, it's certainly bigger than the regular One M9
3/24/2015 5:32:00 PM
HTC hasn't confirmed the existence of the One M9 Plus (also known as One M9+), but it will probably do it soon. Not long after we saw an M9 Plus mock-up next to the already announced One M9, we can now take a look at a video that shows a One M9 Plus dummy. Once again, this is compared to the One M9 at some point.
The video comes from @OnLeaks / Nowhereelse, the same source that revealed the One M9 Plus mock-up that we just told you about. Reportedly, One M9 Plus dummy units like the one we're seeing in the video are used by HTC to test official protective covers. So, if this is indeed the ...

The Lollipop update for the Note 3 is quite a big one, weighing in at 1 GB, so a Wi-Fi connection is needed to proceed with downloading it. While AT&T is confirming that the update is available starting today, some Note 3 users may not receive it right away.
Android 5.0 Lollipop brings lots of significant improvements to the Galaxy Note 3, the most visible ...

AT&T updates the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to Android 5.0.1
3/24/2015 12:09:00 PM
If we write it, it will come. Last night, we told you that AT&T would soon be sending out the Android 5.0 update to its subscribers sporting the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. This morning, the carrier has started sending out Android 5.0.1 to the phablet OTA. As we pointed out on Monday, this is a new version of the update that removes the ill-fated "Interruptions" mode, but will only allow you to mute your phone using the "Sound" slider on the Quick Settings menu.
Speaking of Quick Settings, the Android 5.0.1 update allows you to pull it down from any page and also adds Material Design, the ...

Last month, we passed along some information about the next iteration of the Butterfly series produced by HTC. Speculation has the unannounced HTC Butterfly 3 carrying a 5.2-inch glass with a resolution of 1440 x 2560. Not even the new HTC One M9 offers a QHD screen. The Butterfly series has been an Asia-only affair and the Butterfly 3 promises to be no exception.
The latest buzz around the water cooler has the HTC Butterfly 3 being released in April or May. First stop is Japan where the handset is expected to be offered to KDDI customers. The rumor also contains an interesting tidbit; the ...

How to transfer contacts and calendars from an Android phone to an iPhone
3/24/2015 8:34:00 AM
Transferring your info from an old phone to a new one has always been a pain – especially if the two handsets are made by different manufacturers and refuse to "talk" to each other. And if they are on different operating systems? Ugh, the thought causes many to cringe.
However, this shouldn't necessarily be the case. In recent years, manufacturers have cared to provide tools, which help users quickly extract their data from their old handset and put it in the new one. As our tests with HTC's Transfer, Samsung's Smart Switch, and Sony's Xperia Transfer proved – while some of these apps make ...
