Best new Android and iOS apps of the week (March 17th - 23rd)
3/23/2015 2:12:00 PM
Hello there, appaholics! Another week rolls by, another enourmous batch of apps roll out on on both the App Store and Play Store. Now, with all these new offerings flooding the markets every day, how is one supposed to find something fresh, new, and interesting to install on their smartphone and tinker with? Yeah, we know, keeping tabs on what's coming out is not an easy task (if even possible 100% of the time).

But fear not, as our weekly columns for apps and games are here to help you discover a few gems, which our radar managed to pick up throughout the last seven days. We've got 7 apps ...
Some Samsung devices to have Microsoft services and apps pre-installed
3/23/2015 2:12:00 PM
Samsung plans on having some Microsoft services and apps pre-installed on some of its Android phones and tablets. Some of this isn't news as Samsung announced at MWC earlier this month that the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge would come with Microsoft OneNote, OneDrive and Skype out of the box. In addition, both handsets will come with an additional 100GB of free cloud storage from OneDrive.

In the first half of this year, Samsung will outfit some of its tablets with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, OneDrive, and Skype out of the box. Businesses purchasing devices ...
LG starts rolling out Android Lollipop updates for its G Pad tablets
3/23/2015 1:58:00 PM
LG today announced that it's updating its G Pad tablets to Android 5.0 Lollipop, first in South Korea, and then (hopefully soon) in other markets. All of LG's recent slates are included here: G Pad 8.3, G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0, and G Pad 10.1.

It's worth mentioning that the G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition (which is no longer available to buy) was updated to Lollipop several months ago.

While the G Pad 8.3 has been around since late 2013, the other three LG tablets are newer, being released in 2014. All are powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, have 1 GB of ...
T-Mobile testing Android 5.0 for LG G2 and LG G3
3/23/2015 12:39:00 PM
If you are an LG G2 or LG G3 owner on T-Mobile, you are now closer to getting the Android 5.0 update. T-Mobile's Software update page has been updated (natch!) and changes made to the status of the LG G2 and LG G3. Both handsets had been listed as being in 'Manufacturer Development'. Now, the pair show up on the page as being in the process of  'T-Mobile testing'. That means that the carrier is testing the software to make sure it works perfectly on the mobile operator's zippy pipeline.

This should be the last step before the current LG flagship and its predecessor receive the Android ...
HTC One M9 does not overheat when pushed, new thermal image confirms
3/23/2015 12:06:00 PM

It was a week ago when a thermal image of the HTC One M9 under heavy load started making the rounds. The image in question was part of a performance review and showed an M9 unit hitting a surface temperature of 132 degrees Fahrenheit (55.4 degrees Celsius) when benchmarked. In plain words, the phone was getting pretty hot... literally. The silicon inside the M9 was generating significant amounts of heat, unlike other flagship phones it was being stacked up against.

Inevitably, speculations of overheating issues supposedly plaguing ...

HTC Desire 816 to get its Android 5.0 Lollipop update in April
3/23/2015 11:48:00 AM
Released about a year ago, the Desire 816 is arguably one of HTC's best mid-range handsets to date. At launch, the 816 ran Android KitKat, and it still does. Fortunately, it looks like HTC is almost ready to start updating the smartphone to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

According to HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR, the Desire 816 will be updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop next month (April). It's not clear if the handset will also get HTC's Sense 7 UI (which debuted on the One M9 flagship), or if it's going to keep using the current Sense 6 UI. But we'll let you know when we find out more about this. ...
Latest beta version of iOS 8.3 allows users to download free apps without typing in their password
3/23/2015 11:26:00 AM
As we told you the other day, the latest beta build of iOS 8.3 will let iPhone users turn to Siri when they want to make a call using the iPhone's speakerphone capabilities. Now comes word that the beta also includes a way for iOS users to more quickly go through the process of downloading  apps from the App Store or iTunes.

Under the heading of "Password Settings" in the iTunes and App Store, users can decide whether they need to enter their password immediately when purchasing a paid app, or after 15 minutes. Another new feature will allow iOS users to download a free app without ...
Deep Sleep Battery Saver for your Android puts your battery woes to sleep
3/23/2015 10:58:00 AM
When it comes to battery saving apps for Android, it's always a race between developers that's about who will come up with a clever plan to make your smartphone more battery-efficient. Deep Sleep's tactic is to keep your device in the so-called "deep sleep" mode while its screen is off. In this mode, Wifi and 3G connections are eliminated, and background apps are completely stopped. Thus, battery draining apps such as Facebook and parts of the Google Services can't refresh themselves as often as they like to do, and your phone isn't on the look for new connections in the background. It's a clever ...
Timely rumor: Apple cuts monthly build of the Apple Watch in half to 1.25 million-1.5 million units
3/23/2015 10:22:00 AM
According to a report issued out of China this morning, Apple's plan to build 2.5 million to 3 million units monthly of the Apple Watch has turned out to be too ambitious a goal. Part of the reason stems from the lower than expected yield seen on the production of the display by LG. Due to the use of plastic instead of glass, manufacturing the plastic OLED screen has been more difficult than hoped with yields approaching a range of 30%-40%.

The report adds that the monthly build target for the smartwatch has been cut in half with Apple now planning on producing 1.25 million to 1.5 million ...
Mock-ups imagine a Huawei Nexus based on the Honor 6 Plus and its dual camera setup
3/23/2015 10:16:00 AM
Huawei is on Google's shortlist for its 2015 Nexus device, rumors have it, and a new trio of mock-ups courtesy of SlashGear imagine a world where the rumor is fact.

Based on the Honor 6 Plus, the Huawei Nexus retains all that is true of the device – like the innovative dual camera setup – and simply adds a touch of Nexus branding on top. Obviously, with the Honor 6 Plus already a market reality, and the next Nexus seemingly still many months away, this is nothing more than an exercise in speculation. Still, word on the street is that if a Huawei Nexus device is, ...

How to fix the recent apps button lag in TouchWiz on the Galaxy Note 4
3/23/2015 9:38:00 AM

With its flagship Galaxy S5 and Note 4 last year, Samsung introduced a new capacitive keys setup underneath the display. Dude, where's my menu button? Samsung might have ditched the menu key for a task-switching or "recent apps" button at the left of the physical home key, but you can still call the context menu, if the need arises. You have to long-press that same multitasking key that replaced the older button, and the context menu will appear, as easy as that.

When it comes to the recent apps key, however, those of you who are using a Galaxy ...

Cleaning up the UI adds up to an improved UX on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge
3/23/2015 9:38:00 AM
No one likes having the UI on their phone weighed down by bloatware. So this morning, Samsung took to its official blog to brag about how it has improved the user experience on the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge by "removing cumbersome bloatware." Of course, there is more to it than that. By replacing icons with what Sammy calls "clear text," users no longer have to scroll through long menus.

Customization is a big word (13 letters, in fact), but Samsung lives up to it by allowing Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge owners to personalize app icons, including those for native apps ...
Samsung Galaxy S6 Duos, a dual-SIM version of the flagship, seemingly pops up in Russia
3/23/2015 9:37:00 AM

Apart from the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Samsung also seems to have a third variation of its new flagship phone - the Galaxy S6 Duo. It popped up in the Philippines first, but it now seems that the variation of the Galaxy S6 with two nano SIM card slots inside will be making the rounds in Russia as well.

Rolling under the same model number (SM-G920), the specs sheet of the phone is most probably indiscernible from the regular Galaxy S6, except for the two SIM slots, of course! It still comes with a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, an octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset, 3GB ...

Unlocking the HTC One M9's bootloader is easy! Here's how to do it
3/23/2015 9:19:00 AM
If you are one of those enthusiasts who unlock & root their new smartphone the second they get it, you're going to love the HTC One M9. It's already possible to bust open its bootloader and open the gates for rooting, flashing custom roms, Xposed modules, tweaks - you know, all that good stuff! We're going to show you the procedure now. But before you jump in, take note of some important prerequisites.

You will need a computer for this. In this tutorial, we're using a Windows computer. The procedure is largely the same on Mac and Linux, but the software used differs a little.

Lenovo K3 Note with uniquely designed back revealed, expected to sell on the cheap despite great hardware
3/23/2015 9:08:00 AM
A new Lenovo device, released just today in its homeland of China, is shaping up to be quite the competitor in the ultra value segment where local rivals Xiaomi and Meizu currently reign supreme. Dubbed Lenovo K3 Note, the new phablet packs quite the punch for what is a devices costing just ¥899 (~$145).

For that kind of money, you're getting quite a bit in return. The Lenovo K3 Note sports a 5.5-inch display with a sharp resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels (401 ppi), has an octa-core MediaTek MT6752 coupled with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, a 13MP/5MP camera combo, ...

HTC One M9 Plus mock-up picture shows us what the phone may look like next to the HTC One M9
3/23/2015 9:05:00 AM

Man, those HTC One M9 Plus leaks just keep on coming. Earlier today, we came across details regarding the phone's dimensions, and now, we're presented with a mock-up image depicting what the smartphone might look like next to its smaller sibling, the One M9. The image you see above comes courtesy of @OnLeaks, who, as some of you might remember, brought us those legitimate-looking Xperia Z4 renders, among other credible leaks.

This, however, is not an official image of the HTC One M9 Plus. As the leakster points out, this is just a mock-up ...

How to take a screenshot on the Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 edge
3/23/2015 7:02:00 AM

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are the two hottest new Android flagships that will take on the Apple iPhone 6 as well as other upcoming top-level flagship phones from HTC, LG, Sony, and a growing number of Chinese companies like Xiaomi, amongst others. The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have a beautiful screen on their side, with lots of new customization options coming via ways of themes that change the icons, wallpapers, font, and the overall appearance of the phone.

But how do you capture the unique appearance of your Galaxy S6 to share with ...

Which version of Android is your smartphone running on?
3/23/2015 6:43:00 AM
Google and the world alike count Android's open source nature as one of its biggest advantages over competitors – it allowed and continues to make possible the viral spread of the platform around the world. Ironically, it can also be seen as one of its biggest weaknesses, as it means that the search giant is delegating a lot of power to manufacturers, who may not always live up to the trust placed in them – that they will represent Android in the best possible light.

We're, of course, referring to the fragmentation inherent to Android. Despite all efforts, more than ...

Rumor: LG to keep building the G4 out of plastic, but the G4 Note may be a metal-laden warrior!
3/23/2015 6:28:00 AM

Some time ago we reported that LG is allegedly looking forward to making an LG G4 that is "radically different" from the LG G3. This piece of news came straight from a high-ranking LG executive, Cho Juno; however, he did not elaborate whether we should expect a metal-made body or not. Of course, we as users are certainly rooting for LG to come out with an outstanding flagship for 2015, and while this does not necessarily require the phone slinger to use metal as a build material, we certainly won't mind it.

According to an industry insider, the second-largest ...

More HTC One M9 Plus details revealed: 5.2-inch screen, giant body
3/23/2015 5:50:00 AM

While most of our collective attention has been focused on HTC's new flagship, the One M9 (which we reviewed already), another device from the manufacturer may prove just as interesting – the One M9 Plus. From what we know so far, the M9 Plus will be a larger version of the M9, with a Quad HD display and a fingerprint scanner in tow.

Leaks and rumors concerning the M9 Plus are sporadic at best, giving us that weird feeling that its fate is not yet decided, though that's not for lack of such. Just today, for example, leak authority @OnLeaks shot ...

Latest Sony Xperia Z4 leaks, HTC's Uh Oh protection, and does the One M9 really overheat? Weekly news round-up
3/23/2015 5:09:00 AM
Once again, it is time for our weekly news round-up, where we put the most interesting stores from the past seven days for anyone who needs to catch up. The top item on the list is the recent leak exposing the rumored Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone from all angles – legitimate-looking renders surfaced on Twitter last Monday along with the disclaimer that they weren't final. What's not a rumor is the new Uh Oh protection program by HTC. In a nutshell, those who buy an HTC One M9 are eligible to receive a free replacement in case they damage their handset. Speaking of the HTC One M9, speculations ...

Captivating images of a bezel-less Oppo phone crop up
3/23/2015 4:53:00 AM
Last Friday, we brought your attention to a phone with virtually no side bezels by Chinese LeTV, but if you thought that the device in question will be left without company, then you should think again. A major player on the Chinese smartphone market, Oppo was recently awarded a patent outlining how it would go about creating a smartphone displays with essentially zero bezel on the sides. Almost immediately, a duo of images surfaced in China, supposedly giving us a first glimpse of the actual device based on that patent, and it looks just as captivating.

According to the source ...

Huawei P8 blueprint reveals super-slim design, fingerprint scanner?
3/23/2015 4:08:00 AM
In a little over 20 days from now, on April 15th, Huawei is set to hold an event in London – one that is expected to finally bring an end to the steadily increasing stream of Huawei P8 rumors, and show us the real thing. With the unveiling closing in on us, it's not surprising to see the rumor mill churn out more and more relevant leaks, and today we mark another one – a supposed blueprint of the P8.

The drawings, if legit, give us quite a bit of insight into Huawei's upcoming flagship device. For starters, they confirm that the latest slew of design images that have cropped ...

HTC One M9 vs Apple iPhone 6
3/23/2015 4:02:00 AM

Introduction
Apple and HTC have something intimately in common with one another, they seriously know how to design some gorgeous looking phones. When we first saw the iPhone 6 last fall, we were quick to draw comparisons to the HTC One M8 – mainly because they're constructed mostly out of metal, and have similar design characteristics. Between them, though, it was the iPhone 6 that garnered more attention and adulation, both from consumers and critics alike, which is made more poignant by the amount of units Apple was able to ship out and sell of its prized ...

Poll results: Are you unhappy that Samsung ditched replaceable battery and expandable storage for the Galaxy S6?
3/23/2015 3:48:00 AM
With the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, Samsung finally took a bullet for the unibody team, and sealed off their battery compartments. Sixth time was the charm in the flagship Galaxy S line history that did away with Samsung's signature flexible design decision that gave you the chance to swap the battery at will if needed, or add extra storage via a microSD slot.

On the other hand, we've got a new durable Li-pol battery type in the S6, plus it ships with 32 GB of internal memory out of the box, instead of the basic 16 GB so far. While proper battery tests are still to be made, the S6 won't be much ...
Samsung might allow you to uninstall pre-installed apps (bloatware) from the Galaxy S6, S6 edge
3/23/2015 3:45:00 AM
Just like previous Samsung flagships, the brand new Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will ship with a slew of preinstalled apps. Most of these provide users with free access to premium services, but let's face it, not everyone is keen on having such apps, often referred to as "bloatware".

Thankfully for all those that have been eyeing the Galaxy S6 or S6 edge with pleasure, it appears that users will be allowed to get rid of the pre-installed apps without much hassle. It seems that apart from disabling the apps (which has always been one of the ways to remove the clutter in your app drawer), ...
HTC One M9 vs HTC One M8 screen-to-body ratio comparison: which one's more efficient?
3/23/2015 3:14:00 AM
Now that we've spent some time with the HTC One M9, we wanted to check how the smartphone evolved from its predecessor, the One M8, in the considerably important metric of screen-to-body ratio. That is, the percentage of the smartphone's area that's occupied by the screen. Since the display is the most essential part of a smartphone's front panel - it's the mediator between you and what you want your smartphone to do. So you'd like it better if that ratio happened to be closer to 100% rather than, say, 50%. Too low of a ratio would stand for too much wasted space around the screen's four sides. ...
Another Sony Cosmos image leaks, selfie-centric phone's front camera now visible
3/23/2015 3:10:00 AM
A little over a week ago, industry informant @upleaks published two images of a Sony device that showed us the outlines of a smartphone with thin bottom bezel and a large, but barely visible front-facing camera and an LED flash. Speculation arose that the Sony Cosmos could be a successor to the selfie-centric Xperia C3, but judging by the Bluetooth pane seen in one of the photos, the name Sony Cosmos isn't simply a code name – it seems to be the device's actual name.

Going back to the new image at hand, we can finally better see the selfie cam up front and appreciate ...

HTC One M9 - check out the attractive official cases and earphones!
3/23/2015 2:41:00 AM
With the HTC One M9 out and about in markets on both sides of the planet, it's time to take a look at some of the official accessories that will be sold alongside the smartphone. To accompany your purchase, HTC brought out some old favorites, updated others, and even made some new ones.

So, there you go - have a nice long look at them! It's a great start for a nice and beautiful, if a little flawed smartphone. Welcome to the family, M9!

Get the full set of Galaxy S6 and S6 edge wallpapers here
3/23/2015 2:39:00 AM
Despite some rumors to the contrary, Samsung's new TouchWiz edition that ships with the Galaxy S6 looks almost as bloated (sorry, feature and freebies-laden) as before. There was speculation that Samsung apps like S Note, S Voice and so on, will be provided as separate downloads, though, in order to avoid gumming up the interface works.

Well, this didn't really happen, as those apps still come preinstalled on the new S6 and S6 edge phones, but they are a bit redesigned now, with a few new features added. We do have a pleasant surprise for you today, though, and it is all 12 Galaxy S6 and ...
No secure SIM card or special app needed to make mobile payments using a Windows 10 handset
3/23/2015 12:55:00 AM
While Apple Pay has been the rising tide that lifts all mobile payment boats, most of those boats are Android powered. In other words, Microsoft's mobile platform has been pretty barren when it comes to a mobile payment service. Sure, there was Softcard, but its Windows Phone app was shuttered when Google bought the technology and IP of the mobile payment system that was developed by Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.

But there is good news. According to some PowerPoint images revealed at WinHEC, Windows 10 for Phones will feature Host Card emulation for NFC payments. This means that a Windows ...
Snapdragon 620 takes on the Snapdragon 615 in Qualcomm's latest heat test
3/23/2015 12:06:00 AM

It was just Saturday night when we passed along a test conduced by Qualcomm that showed how the unreleased Snapdragon 815 runs cooler than the feverish Snapdragon 810 and the Snapdragon 801. Now, Qualcomm has apparently heat-tested the unreleased Snapdragon 620 and the currently available Snapdragon 615.

Unlike the previous tests, which used the game Asphalt 8 to stress the chips, Qualcomm turned to Mortal Combat 5. That is a surprising choice since it is more demanding and the chips being tested are Qualcomm's mid-range chipsets. Perhaps Qualcomm should have used Mortal Combat 5 for ...
How to bring a TouchWiz look to your non-Samsung Android phone
3/22/2015 11:45:00 PM
Samsung's TouchWiz UI has often been criticized for various reasons, but this doesn't mean that there aren't smartphone users who actually like its design. In case you're one of these users, and your current Android handset is not manufactured by Samsung, you can easily make your device look like it's got TouchWiz on top of Android.

The quickest and (arguably) best way to TouchWizify your smartphone is to download and install a launcher called S Launcher, which is available on Google Play.

Once installed, S Launcher should automatically become your new launcher. If that doesn't ...
Will John Chen decide to make BlackBerry a software-only company?
3/22/2015 10:59:00 PM

With its share of the global smartphone market now under .5%, BlackBerry CEO John Chen might have to make a hard decision concerning future sales of handsets. An amazing report issued by Morgan Stanley last week suggested that the company has sold only 8000 units of the BlackBerry Passport and BlackBerry Classic during this current quarter. Consider that AT&T is selling both models, that seems quite hard to believe. Morgan Stanley's James Faucette says that BlackBerry will have to hustle to sell 2 million to 3 million old-school BlackBerry Classic units in fiscal 2016.

Last quarter, ...
Did you know that Samsung launched the first solar-powered cell phone?
3/22/2015 8:32:00 PM
There are well over a thousand models in Samsung's cell phone portfolio, ranging from basic handsets and pocket-friendly feature phones to top-of-the-line Galaxy smartphones. The phones we're highlighting today are far from smart, yet we do think their uniqueness makes them worthy of a spot under the sun... quite literally.

In 2009, Samsung released the world's first solar-powered cell phone. It was known as the Samsung Guru E1107 and featured a solar cell built into its back plate. When exposed to sunlight, the cell generated electricity which in turn recharged the phone's battery. The ...
HTC One M9 vs iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Nexus 6, Lumia 930 blind camera comparison: vote here
3/22/2015 7:02:00 PM

The day is February 19, 2013. HTC's Jason MacKenzie steps up on stage at an official HTC event to announce the company's latest and greatest smartphone. The smartphone in question is the HTC One, now referred to as the HTC one M7. Back then, it blew our minds with its outstanding design and premium sound quality, among other goodies in its feature arsenal. What didn't quite impress us, however, was its UltraPixel camera. The latter came with the promise to blow the competition out of the water, but in actuality, it lagged behind the cameras on most other flagship devices. ...

HTC One M9 vs Samsung Galaxy S5
3/22/2015 7:00:00 PM
Introduction
HTC just outed the next heir to its flagship lineup. The One M9 largely keeps the premium metal unibody aura of its predecessor, but upgrades the internals with a faster Snapdragon 810 chipset, and a high-res 20 MP camera.

Will those be enough to warrant the price difference with Samsung's 2014 darling? The Galaxy S5 is still a viable alternative to the M9 with a 1080p screen and a high-res camera of its own, but a less premium build, so let's clash those two, and find out...

DesignThe stylish, all-metal HTC One M9 looks all the more impressive when next to the plastic ...
HTC One M9 vs Motorola Moto X 2014
3/22/2015 7:00:00 PM

Introduction
At first sight, HTC's new flagship instilled a feeling of deja vu in us, but we decided to give it a chance and not judge the book by its cover. Well, it turned out to be a pretty mixed bag – the One M9 is certainly an improvement over the One (M8) in certain areas, but also a pretty disappointing step backwards in other pretty vital ones, like battery life and display quality. However, is it a better overall device than a rival flagship that is seemingly a bit long in the tooth already, a Motorola Moto X (2014)? There's only one way to find out – by taking a closer look at ...
HTC One M9 vs HTC One M8
3/22/2015 7:00:00 PM

Introduction
The life cycle for today's flagship smartphone is one year: the time needed to naturally make improvements and tweaks, while also adding some new features, in order to make the new product more lust-worthy than the last. The HTC One M8 was undoubtedly a refined model over the M7, making great strides in the design department, but as history has shown us, the overall package still didn't quite make a significant impact on hungry consumers looking for that perfect all-around phone. With its latest iteration, the HTC One M9 aims to capitalize on the ...

HTC One M9 vs Google Nexus 6
3/22/2015 7:00:00 PM
Introduction
You don't mess with a winning formula, wise people say, and some will point out that HTC's brand-new One M9 flagship is a testament to that. But the underlying decision-making that brought us the M9 is a bit more complicated than that. A bit, not a lot.

The One M9, then, features the same distinguished metallic unibody design with front-facing BoomSound loudspeakers that won our hearts before becoming synonymous with the series, but improves upon its predecessors in controversial areas such as the camera and even adds some extra smarts to the proprietary Sense interface. ...
HTC One M9 vs Apple iPhone 6 Plus
3/22/2015 7:00:00 PM
IntroductionThe HTC One M9 and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus: both metal-made, stylish and sturdy phones that bring top-level silicon under the hood, but which one is better?
The HTC One M9 is the newest member on the Android flagship block and one of the first Android 5.0 Lollipop devices, sprinkled with some new Sense UI flavor, a brand new, 20-megapixel main camera, and running on Qualcomm's hot new octa-core Snapdragon 810 system chip. The Apple iPhone 6 Plus, on the other hand, shows the best of iOS 8 on a phablet-sized device, and rather than going with the trendy high-megapixel cameras and ...

How to register more than 3 fingerprints on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or Galaxy S5
3/22/2015 5:31:00 PM
One of the many perks you get with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or a Samsung Galaxy S5 is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button. Its main purpose is to replace your lock screen PIN or pattern, but it can also be used to securely sign into web sites, to verify PayPal payments, and to log into your Samsung account. However, the fingerprint scanner on these two phones does have its limitations – you're only allowed to register three fingers for use with it. At least that's what the phones' maker wants you to think. In this quick and easy tutorial, we'll teach you how to register more than three ...
Universal using licensing renewal negotiations to get Spotify to cut back on free streaming
3/22/2015 5:12:00 PM
According to a report in the Financial Times, Universal is using license negotiations with music streamer Spotify in an attempt to get the latter to reduce the amount of free music that it streams to subscribers each month. The global entertainment conglomerate, which owns the largest music company in the world, is blaming free ad-based music streaming for the decline in sales of recorded music from online stores like iTunes.

Spotify is also facing competition from Apple, whose new streaming music service is expected to launch later this year with the release of iOS 8.4. Apple is seeking ...
